All about Clothing & Dressing for Northern BC

As a result of it's location in northeastern British Columbia, Fort St. John experiences a variety of weather conditions.

You'll experience warmer temperatures in the Spring, Summer and even Autumn.  The winter months can be very cold.  If you're unprepared, winter weather can be unbearable and even dangerous.  If you have small children, it is critical to dress them for the season (and you too!).

-30°C, especially with wind, can freeze your skin.  It is best to keep dry and active.  It is also important to have the following items of clothing:

  • A warm hat, like a toque
  • A warm jacket
  • Winter boots
  • Mittens or gloves
  • A scarf or neck warmer
  • Snow pants or a snow suit
  • Sweater

If you have the right clothing, winter weather can be very tolerable!
